My building techniques continue to evolve with every new build.  I use a straight sided stepped mortise to attach necks tot e body.  Once the neck is glued I use 1/4" pins on either check of the mortise to lock it into the end-block.  Generally I build laminated necks that use a 3/8" non adjustable steel tube reinforcement rod set in epoxy, however I also do adjustable truss rods when requested by the customer. All of my instruments are unique in design and ornament.  I use nitrocellulose lacquer finish over epoxy or shellac grain  filler depending on the species of wood.
